Lee Powell builds writing, publishing and AI systems that have to hold up.

Lee Powell is an author, founder and software engineer in Melbourne. He built document software used by writers worldwide, including Scrivener and Scapple for Windows, and founded Lumen & Lever to build traceable AI and document systems for production work.

Author

Lee writes books and field guides about systems, agency and the traps people get caught inside. Wrap My Cover was built from a working author's print-production problem, not as a generic graphics demo.

Software engineer

His work spans document software, banking and government systems, retail platforms and production services where calculation, auditability and operational boundaries matter.

Founder

Through Lumen & Lever, Lee builds practical AI systems for documents and decisions: source-traced answers, reviewable outputs and workflows that expose what the model used rather than hiding it.

Why this matters for Wrap My Cover

KDP cover generation is a production problem: the math has to be current, the PDF has to be exact, and authors need to know what changed when trim, paper, binding or page count changes. The project carries Lee's wider systems approach into a narrow, useful publishing tool.
